The Trenton-Mercer Airport as it looked in 1931 (a grass field with no paved runways) and how it looks today after many incremental upgrades (land acquisitions, paved runways, paved taxi ways, terminal building, high intensity runway lighting, parking lots, control tower, several hangar buildings, ILS system, Pfizer terminal, and more) over the years. These cumulative changes coupled with the lack of land use planning (allowing the construction of communities adjacent to the Trenton-Mercer Airport) have created the environmental issues that communities in Bucks County Pa. and Mercer County NJ are experiencing today.
